For Bruins, the idea is simple.

show up.
give blood.
help someone.

The school with the most verified donations by Dec. 4 will receive a $1 million grant from Abbott to support student or community health initiatives.
Every qualifying donation generated through UCLA alumni efforts contributes $1 to the UCLA Alumni Association, up to $10,000, to support student and community health initiatives.

Bleeding Blue and Gold Beyond the Metaphor

We do it in our hospitals and clinics, through research and discovery, and through the ways Bruins support one another and their communities. Right now, there is an urgent need, and a clear way to help.

UCLA is participating in We Give Blood, a nationwide Big Ten competition that inspires students, alumni, families and fans to donate blood and strengthen the nation’s supply, one donation at a time.

Bruins show up when it counts. This is the moment.

For only the second time in its history, the American Red Cross declared a national blood crisis this summer, after a four-year low in summer donations. Every donation helps care for trauma patients, transplant recipients, cancer patients, new mothers and countless others.
